American Flying Tigers Fighter Pilot, 1941-1942, Oregon State Reprentative, 1967-1969, Oregon State Senator, 1969-1989, Mayor of Hood River, 1959-1960 and 1989-1990, Businessman. Senator Ken Jernstedt served as State Representative (1967-69) and State Senator (1969-89). In this interview conducted outside his home in Hood River, 88-year old Senator Jernstedt recounts tales of his fascinating life. A World War II flying ace and member of the renowned Flying Tigers, he recalls many of his military experiences and of meeting the famous Charles Lindbergh. Senator Jernstedt also describes his 22 years in the legislature--the issues and politics of the time.
