Bayocean Natatorium ruins
Abstract/Description: | Bayocean Natatorium ruins. The Natatorium was built on the beach and opened in 1914. It housed a 1000 seat movie theatre, a 50 x 160 heated pool with a wave machine, and boasted a band that entertained the swimmers. By 1932 the ocean had begun washing away the sand and underfootings and in 1936 the roof collapsed. It had totally disappeared by 1939. |
