Architect Examiners, State Board of

The State Board of Architect Examiners was created by the Legislature in 1919 to regulate the practice of architecture. The agency serves Oregonians by assuring that persons practicing architecture in Oregon are properly qualified and licensed. The agency determines the standards for architect and architectural firm licensure, which consist of a combination of education, examination and experience. The agency enforces the laws governing the practice of architecture in Oregon by investigating alleged violations and disciplining those who violate the law. The agency consists of seven board members and five staff and is headquartered in Salem.
