Lenn Hannon

Abstract/Description: Interview with Lenn Hannon. Oregon State Senator, 1975-2003. Senator Lenn Hannon was first elected to the Oregon Senate in 1974 and served until 2004 when he was appointed by Governor Kulongoski to the State Board of Parole. In this interview, Senator Hannon talks about how his wife challenged him to run for office and about his many years of experience in the State Senate. In the 2003 Session, he served as President Pro Tem when a 15-15 split in the Session resulted in the historic step of a Democratic President and Republican Pro Tem working together. Senator Hannon says, "You can be a Republican, you can be a Democrat, but you can also be an Oregonian."
