The Water Resources Department (WRD) protects existing water rights, processes new water rights, provides water resource data, and facilitates water supply solutions. WRD was created in 1975.

    • the State Water Resources Board (1955-1975).

The Youth Authority (OYA) protects the public and reduces crime by holding youth offenders accountable for their behavior and providing opportunities for reformation in safe environments. OYA was established in 1995.
