Schooner (Taft) covered bridge

Schooner covered bridge, also known as Taft covered bridge, is a 100 foot Howe truss spanning Schooner Creek near Taft in Lincoln County, Oregon. The bridge was built in 1924 by the United States Bureau of Public Roads, and the pedestrian walkway was added several years later. Also, the portal openings would be enlarged to facilitate buses and trucks. The bridge was replaced by a concrete structure in 1945., Courtesy of State Library of Oregon.
