This picture was taken during the 1890 flood in Salem, Oregon is a covered bridge on South Commercial Street crossing South Mill Creek. The tall building on the left is the Salem Flouring Mill (also Kinney Flour Mill). According to records, Daniel Clark and John Hayden contracted to build the 200-foot bridge in 1862 for $7500.
