Hop Crew

A hop crew stands around a basket of hops. There are four men standing behind the barrel with two of them pouring another basket of hops into the one they're standing next to. In front of the basket are two men and a woman. The one young man to the right of the picture is holding a machete in his lap, used to cut the vines from the wires, and the man on the left, holding the pole is the "Wire Man" who unhooked the wires with the hop vines from the horizontal wires to lower them for picking., Courtesy of Oregon State Library
