Children and Families, Commission on

The Oregon Commission on Children and Families (OCCF) is an entrepreneurial catalyst that brings critical community partners together to get better outcomes for children and families. The commission’s vision is that Oregon’s children and youth will be safe, healthy, well-educated, employable and valued contributors to their communities. Created by legislation in 1993 and further defined by SB 555 in 1999, OCCF is responsible for statewide planning, system improvement and policy development, and provides communities with research-based best practices to inform local programs serving children and families. All 36 Oregon counties have a Local Commission on Children and Families that coordinates local efforts.
